Automated remote control blinds are no longer a rarity or budget busting. It is more unusual for us not to motorize our shades anymore. Low voltage wired and wireless remote controls with batteries, rechargeable batteries, or power supplies are extremely affordable and convenient. For larger shades, heavy duty 110 volt wired motors are preferable.
Some windows almost require remote control operation. Windows behind bathtubs are a perfect example. Climbing into the tub or scrambling up on to the tub surround to lift or operate a shade is unsafe and cumbersome. Color and Density impacts your privacy and view
Darker colors offer a better view through the fabric. More dense or tighter woven fabrics lessen the view. In the picture above, the left center shade is 95% solid. The right center is 90%. The light colored right shade is 90% (10% open) also. The less dense the material, the better the view. The darker the color, the better the view.
